Jennie Hillman

RYT Yoga Alliance and BY Dip

Jennie has been studying yoga for over 13 years, having practised in the schools of Hatha, Dru, Sivananda, Kundalini, Satyananda and Iyengar but finding her true passion in Astanga and Jivamukti. She has studied Astanga Vinyasa under the direct lineage of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois through his son, Manju Jois, and a number of eminent teachers including Nancy Gilgoff, Lino Miele, Danny Paradise, John Scott, Elizabeth Connolly, Liz Lark and Richard Freeman. She has also been instructed in teaching Jivamukti by both David Life and Sharon Gannon, the founders of this system.
Jennie teaches both Astanga Vinyasa yoga and Dynamic Vinyasa Flow yoga, co-ordinating postures with the rhythm of the breath, leading to a dynamic yet meditative practice. Her classes use creative sequencing to energise and uplift you, whilst individual hands-on adjustments help to deepen your practice.

Ian Davis

The perfect balance of muscle effort and relaxation is what inspires Ian in yoga.  The fact that you start from where you are - regardless of the state of your body or mind.  Movement and breath, focus and strength.  To come out of the class feeling fantastic - alive and energised. To have worked hard, sweated even but to leave with more energy than when you came in.  He started teaching after completing ashtanga teacher training with David Swenson more than seven years ago and has since qualified with both the British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga alliance.  (He teaches because he loves it).

Pascale Gysi
Pascale discovered Yoga’s healing qualities nearly a decade ago when “Yoga strengthened me physically, calmed me mentally and nurtured me emotionally”. Her main focus for many years was in the Ashtanga Vinyasa System of Yoga which led to her Ashtanga Teacher training with David Swenson in 2005. Pascale also explored various other traditions, (incl. Hatha, Sivananda, Iyengar and Kundalini - the Yoga of Awareness ) whilst training to become a fully qualified British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance teacher with the Life Centre in London. She is truly grateful to the inspiration all her amazing teachers have given (and continue to give) her.
Pascale’s style of teaching is a fusion of the various methods of Yoga which have most influenced her. She emphasises energy, flow and breath taking into account the seasons and moon cycle. She links postures in creative sequences to generate heat in the body, whilst balancing the practise with the use of music, poetry, visualisation and meditation, so you leave class uplifted, centred and wanting more.

Roberta Jesson

Sue Ratcliffe
Sue started yoga when studying for a degree in microbiology to overcome stiffness from hours sitting at a desk, and to deal with the stress of exams! This was over 25 years ago and she has been practising ever since. Sue is a qualified British Wheel of Yoga Diploma Teacher and is undertaking further studies in meditation. She is also a member of The Community of Interbeing that follows the teaching of the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. ue uses a number of different styles of yoga, but is particularly interested in the holistic approach of the Bihar School of Yoga, aswell as the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli, where gravity and grounding is important. Sue teaches in hospices and hospitals one to one as well as group sessions, and she has a firm belief that relaxing the mind can help people experiencing difficult times in their life a great deal. Sue aims to teach how gentle and mindful movements can be used to maintain body mobility (for example after surgery), and to re-build strength and stamina. Sue also teaches breathing, visualization and meditation techniques that allow the mind and body to slow down and cut out the “chatter” that can lead to a feeling of being stressed and overwhelmed. Students are supported in working at their own pace, to feel comfortable and relaxed in class.
