Pregnancy Pilates
We offer private sessions for you or a group of friends.

Pilates is an excellent method of exercise for the pregnant woman. But a general Pilates class is not appropriate during this important time. Certain exercises and positions are contraindicated and particular emphasis is important for maximum benefits: such as a neutral spine in all positions (but not lying on your back for continuous periods of time after the fourth month), and an effective breathing technique which ensures a good supply of oxygen to both mother and baby. Small classes are also important at this time to enable individual attention.
We will focus on exercises that open and release the body while maintaining its strength and integrity. Our aim during pregnancy is to maintain the alignment of the body, particularly the pelvis (to avoid common ailments such as back ache, and assist with birth), and safely maintain the strength of the abdominals and pelvic floor.
Also we will keep the arms, legs and bottom toned.
